I’m taking a break from watching the Call of Duty Championship to bring you my latest hybrid scrapbooking birthday card. This card, for my wonderful mother-in-law, took me less than an hour to design and assemble. Other than date stamps and buttons, I used Just Jaimee’s newest Storyteller, Raine (you can subscribe to get free goodies and access to the special forum or you can build your own bundle). The word art was just perfect for this card! The cardstock size is 8.5″ x 11″- house-brand from Michael’s. Other than that, nothing special is needed to make a hybrid card.
Using the word art took the guess work out of what I wanted the card to express. I used the stamp to create a border for the card, but I could have also just trimmed it.
I kept the inside elements really simple. Since I’m terrible at cutting and have no fancy machine, I embraced my natural wonkiness. I really did not mean to get ink on the “sweet” word art, but it happened… so I went with it. One day, I’ll learn how to make an envelope.
My Printer Settings:
The great thing about Jaimee’s products is that even with my horrible printer, the color is always very close to what I see on my computer. I don’t ever have to reprint because something was off. No wasted ink, no tweaking anything in Photoshop: just design and print.
It’s so easy to make a hybrid scrapbooking card, even I can do it! And my mother-in-law LOVED her handmade card from her favorite daughter-in-law.
